Building your own board: first install MAKCU firmware on the migration page https://app.makcu.com/makcu/ (back up each chip first), then keep it up to date with MAKCU Toolkit https://makcu.com/toolkit/. The DevKit uses a stacked design with automatic flash mode (no button press needed); the MAKCU board is flat and uses the same code.
